Dear 1st Pymble Cubs and Parents,
This week at Cubs we will be heading down to Bobbin head for some fun in the canoes. We will supply the canoes and Personal Floatation Devices.
Where: Apple Tree Bay Bobbin Head National Park canoe launch area. This is different from where we usually canoe, go down bobbin head road and follow the road to apple tree bay carpark.

Time: 6.30pm - 8pm.
Wear: Come in your Cub uniform with red camp shirt (if you have one). It is compulsory that you are in old sneakers (that can go in the water) or enclosed water shoes. Crocs, thongs or similar are not suitable and cubs won't be able to paddle if they have these only.
Bring: A towel to dry off at the end if necessary, water and mozzie repellent in a small day pack, a warm jacket, old sneakers or enclosed water shoes. Cubs can bring a torch as well as it may be getting dark at the very end of the night.
What: Many of the cubs have their level 1 and 2 paddling badges. Those cubs who don't have their badges will be learning the basics of safe paddling on land quickly before getting into their canoes. We will be going for a paddle off the boat ramp with the whole group, accompanied by leaders and a certified Scouts paddle instructor (Panda.) We will provide the canoes and the PFD's.
Even though all cubs will be wearing a PFD, if your child is not a confident swimmer then please let us know so we can keep a closer eye on them. We do require that any cubs participating in this activity can swim at least 25 metres unaided.
Cost: Please pay park entry on arrival if needed - please refer to signage on the evening.
See you there,
Quokka, Corella and Flamingo.
